It is common to see students from around
the world on campus at California State University, Long Beach. With in the
diversity, domestic students have a lot of opportunities to know other
countries and cultures, and have a meaningful interaction with international
students.
Many students are interested in the diverse
culture thanks to this environment at California State University, Long Beach.
Rosendo Leon is not exception. Leon is a senior Japanese major and has studies
Japanese over 10 years. During his school life at the community college in San
Diego, he not only helped Japanese international students at the language
school located on campus but also helped students who was taking a Japanese
class.
He said he has had a dream to work in Japan
since he was kid. “I would like to have a job where I can help bring Japanese
and American people together,” Leon said.
There will be three career forums for English
and Japanese speakers in Los Angels, Boston, New York and Japan throughout the
year. Leon is going to attend the forum held in Boston this October. Even
through all companies require the job interview in Japanese, he said he is not
afraid at all. “I’m sure all I did for 10 years will help me,” Leon said.
Culture differences entertain him and
promote him to learn more about Japan, and his challenge will last until he
meets his wishes.
